Slip and Fall in Fast Food Restaurants

The conditions of fast food restaurants are, unfortunately, very conducive to potential slip-and-fall accidents. Such establishments frequently have tiled flooring; and a dropped bit of food, a spilled drink, or a freshly mopped floor could well lead to an unaware customer slipping and sustaining personal injury.

Fortunately, like many similar outlets, almost all of the major fast food chains in the US are obligated by law to keep their premises in safe conditions for their patrons and employees.

What this means, of course, is that if you have experienced injuries caused by slipping and falling within the premises of a fast food restaurant, you may be eligible for damage payments – after all, such an incident could, among many other things, lead to medical bills, mental anguish, and loss of income.

There is, of course, plenty of precedence for this. For instance, while precise details were largely kept anonymous, it is known that, after a woman slipped on water in the restroom of an outlet of Taco Bell – one of the biggest and most well-known fast food franchises in America – she sued the company, seeking damages for loss of consortium due to the severe injuries she suffered; it is also known that, ultimately, the court ruled in her favour.

Putting it simply, if you’ve suffered injury caused by a slip and fall in a fast food outlet’s premises, you most certainly wouldn’t be the first to seek damages. But as is always the case when doing so, these damages should be sought in a careful, rational manner compliant with the law.

Wherever you may happen to live, there is almost certainly an attorney and law firm in your area. In fact, there’s a decent chance that there’s at least one attorney in the area who specialises in slip-and-fall cases – after all, they’re pretty common as damage cases go.

Do some research. Check out all the legal services in your area. Many will likely offer free consultations – take as many of them as you can, and compare levels of reputation and prices, as well as which firms seem the most confident in your case. Gather all the available information about your incident, as well as precisely what you wish to claim damages for – a case that is properly informed and well-organised stands a far greater chance of being given proper time and consideration by the court.
